Law School Contacts Skylar Design Again for More Web Services
Virginia Beach, VA, Sep. 1 - In January 2004, Regent University’s Law School, hired Skylar Design as a consultant to review their newly designed website before it went live to the public. After submitting a comprehensive report, the law school hired Skylar to implement certain changes based on our findings. From that project, a unique relationship developed.
In March 2004, the law school contacted Skylar Design again about working with their web team for another critical web project – the law library website. Being an essential asset to law students, faculty, alums, and local law firms, it was clear that the law library had to meet new online demands; and Skylar was ready to help meet some of these challenges. According to Jennifer Murray, Web & Communications Specialist, Regent Law School, “the reason Regent Law contracted with Skylar on our secondary site was a direct result of the integrity and character displayed while problem solving and launching our primary site. One overriding issue that built this trusting relationship was grounded in the way Skylar took on our mission as their own.”
Throughout this entire process, Skylar’s role was important. From the very start, Skylar provided key consulting services, both in listening to the unique needs the law library had, as well giving insights on technical issues that had to be considered before any designs were ever created. Besides acting as a consultant for this project, our main responsibility was to take the finished comps which were created by the law school and convert them into fully developed ColdFusion templates.
At the end of June, Skylar finished developing all the templates and then installed them on the Regent web server. Skylar also provided onsite training, familiarizing them with the new templates and how they could maintain and update their site. The law web team will develop the rest of the site and hope to have it completed and launched by end of August 2004.
As always, it was a pleasure working with the Regent Law School and Law Library web team.
