Skylar Design Launches Kids in Action's First Website
Islip, NY, Apr 25 - In the Fall of 2004, Kids in Action of Long Island (KIA) scheduled a meeting with Skylar Design to discuss the possibility of creating their website. It was clear they wanted a site that was unique and distinctive from organizations in the same industry. After a few meetings, KIA chose Skylar Design to take on the project.
There were definitely some clear directives from Kids in Action with regards to who they wanted to reach. They needed to first target parents with infants or young children with special needs. Second, they wanted to communicate to families, schools, and communities about their presence on Long Island. Third, KIA wanted to connect with other therapists in the area who possessed skills and training in alternative pediatric care.
At Skylar Design, our first goal was to assess KIA's current branding and see what we could do to strengthen their name recognition. After much review, we decided to custom-create a new logo for the organization which we believe is much stronger now. Based upon the new identity as well as the feedback we received from KIA, we conceptualized a new design which reflects not only its distinct services, but also the professional care KIA therapists give to each child.
As a design firm, we didn't want to lose the overall heart of Kids in Action; that being, infants and children. "The passion for each little one was evident from our meetings and discussions with the KIA leadership, and we wanted to capture that personal touch with this website," states Justin Agoglia, Principal/Creative Director of Skylar Design. Furthermore he states, "This is, in fact, our goal with every project we taken on: capturing the heartbeat of the organization."
Another key component to the KIA website is the online photo gallery. The strength of the gallery showcases both the facility and the specialized equipment used for therapy.
We believe the new website captures the essence of the KIA team. Tara Thornton, Co-Owner, Kids In Action Co., shares, "We knew the site was going to be good but it came out FABULOUS! Compared to sites related to our field, we feel ours is the best quality!"
