Skylar Design Redesigns Regent University Professor Lyle Story's Website
Virginia Beach, VA, Jun. 28 - In 2002, Skylar Design met with Dr. J. Lyle Story to discuss the possibility of creating a website. Recognized as one of the leading scholars in the area of biblical languages, particularly the Greek language, he is respected by many for his work and his contribution to the theological community.
Several years ago, Dr. Story co-authored a textbook with his father, Dr. Cullen I K Story, a former Princeton professor, entitled "Greek to Me." From that project he developed a multimedia tutorial (CD-ROM), an essential and innovative tool for "learning Koine Greek faster, easier and more efficiently than conventional methods, such as the 'painful' and ineffective method of rote memorization." A website presented the perfect opportunity to offer this tool, in addition to many other valuable resources. Thus, in 2002 the Regent professor’s first website was birthed.
Dr. Story has shared that the original site granted him many benefits, including greater exposure. The website was unique in that it provided a centralized location whereby seminary students, professors, or anyone wanting to learn more about him could "meet" him and gain access to his unique resources.
In time as traffic to his website increased, Dr. Story recognized it was time to upgrade and improve his current marketing strategy. Because current and emerging web browsers have stricter web standards than when his first site was created, the code for his new site has greatly altered to adhere to these new standards. This, in turn, helps his overall searchability within the major search engines and directories. The new look is quite an improvement from what he had before and we appreciate the opportunity to work with Dr. Story and his wife, Sherri, on this project.
