Skylar Design Gives the Kinney and Associates Website a New Edge
Chicago, IL, SEP. 27 - While summer break extended long days and starry night to kids and faculty everywhere, it also granted Kinney and Associates (K&A), a Chicago-based educational resources company, the opportunity to reflect on their current online strategy. Upon careful consideration, K&A contacted Skylar Design to launch a whole new look for their corporate website for the fall 2005 school year.
After 15 successful years in the education arena, K&A expressed the importance of updating their current website to reflect a new and current image of the company. They desired a more colorful and cheerful look which communicated an educational message and an organized layout of their products and services. Their target audience included teachers, superintendents, and administrators nation-wide. Although they had enjoyed their previous site, it was time to make a change and move forward. Redesigning the site was an important step in the process of aligning their business objectives. K&A also wanted a search engine friendly site with the ability to promote their products and services online.
Skylar Design met the challenge and created a fresh, elegant and bold look for the K&A website. The new website is colorful with captivating and fun images and a strong educational appeal. An Event section on the home page allows K&A to update their events, clearly communicating current information and encouraging visitors to return to the site on an ongoing basis. Skylar designed the site to be very search engine friendly and in alliance with the most current standards. With search engine algorithms changing continually, developers must stay current with this specialized type of technology. And contrary to popular opinion, search engine positioning is not an exact science; it's a continual process. As a standard practice with every site Skylar creates from scratch, we build into our developmental process all the "essential" elements that search engines and web directories look for when considering better positioning. K&A's site was no exception.
The new website has generated an extremely positive response within the company, and, more importantly, within their targeted audience and customer base. Skylar Design is now working with K&A to generate an online marketing campaign to draw even more visitors to their website through the higher rankings in the search engines.
