Skylar Design Builds Mall Website for Atlantic Holdings
Kennebunk, ME, Dec. 6 - In September of 2006, Atlantic Holdings, a residential and commercial real estate development and investment firm, contacted Skylar about custom-designing and building a website for their most recent acquisition, the Five Points Shopping Center in Biddeford, Maine. The site would represent the first significant marketing initiative implemented for the new property.
The 5 Points Shopping Center is a strip mall that is currently home to 14 tenants. Over the next year Atlantic Holding's has plans to continue development at this location and add to their growing list of tenants. With a targeted audience ranging from consumers (all ages from teens on up, local residents, & tourists) to retailers looking to lease space, the site had to be designed to reach a very wide audience.
Desired objectives for the 5 Points Web Site include:
- Develop a scaleable online presence for 5 Points that will allow the site to grow as the property grows
- Create awareness for the property and the tenants
- Generate excitement about the property and the changes to come under the new management
- Produce high search engine results
- Support existing shoppers and attract new shoppers
- Establish Atlantic Holdings as the new property managers
Working closely with the client team, Skylar determined that to best meet these objectives, the new site should act primarily as an informational resource and branding tool. It should provide visitors with the information they need to locate the property, contact the management company, review property specs and other relevant leasing information, and promote all of the tenants currently on the premises, providing easy access to store hours of operation, phone numbers, and tenant URLs if available. Overall it was meant to serve as a convenience tool for local residence and tourists visiting the area.
With plans to continue to maintain the site as the property grows, we feel we've met Atlantic's core objectives with our initial launch. We appreciate their entrusting us with such a great project.
